PayMohawk was born out of necessity, not opportunity.
We Got Shut Down. So We Built Our Own.
We run Mohawk businesses — tobacco, cannabis, e-commerce. For years, we dealt with the same problem every Indigenous merchant knows: traditional payment processors don't want us.
Stripe shut us down. PayPal froze our funds. Vultr cancelled our hosting. Every platform we touched eventually decided our business wasn't worth the “risk” of serving Indigenous commerce.
So we stopped asking for permission. We built PayMohawk — a self-hosted, non-custodial crypto payment processor that no bank, no corporation, and no government can shut down. Our infrastructure runs in an offshore privacy jurisdiction with some of the strongest data protection laws in the world. Our code is open-source. And the Bitcoin in your wallet is yours, not ours.
We built this for ourselves first. Then we realized every smoke shop, dispensary, and gaming operation on every reserve across Canada has the same problem. PayMohawk is the solution.
